NTT and AT&T have had web presentations on IPv6
Within the last few weeks NTT and AT&T have had web presentations on IPv6.
Building IPv6 Service Provider Core WebEX
Ivan Pepelnjak (CCIE#1354) from ioshints.info is hosting a webex on April13th on Building IPv6 Service Provider Core
When building an IPv6-enabled Service Provider core, you have three design options: dual-stack deployment, running IPv6 over MPLS (6PE) or running IPv6 inside a VPN (6VPE). This workshop describes the principles of all three design options and their comparative benefits and drawbacks.
We’ll also discuss Cisco IOS configurations for each of the three design options; you’ll get complete router configurations for a sample PE-router, P-router and BGP route reflector.
Delivery details
The presentation is delivered over the Internet using one of the popular interactive web conferencing platforms, allowing you to ask questions and receive answers in real-time. You'll receive the necessary technical details two days before the delivery date.
EPF4 IPv6 Discussion Panel
AMS-IX, DE-CIX, LINX and NETNOD are hosting the fourth European Peering Forum on 14 and 15th September in Copenhagen, Denmark. NETNOD has joined the host team for the first time in 2009 and is taking the lead in the organisation for this year.
The unique event will bring together around 200 individuals from our respective member organisations, the peering networks that have an interest in not only negotiation and strategy, but also the operational aspects of peering.
The IPv6 content for this year is a little low but a good panel discusion will be available on day 2 which i am looking forward to seeing.
IPv6 panel discussion. Moderator: Martin Levy, HE. Panelists: Marco Hogewoning (XS4ALL), Gert Doering (SpaceNet), Dave Freeman (Claranet) and Rickhard Carlswärd (Phonera).
Numbers strong for IPv6 Hui in NZ
Over 180 registrations have been received for the IPv6 Hui business technology events in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch next week. The events will focus on roadmaps and corporate adoption of IPv6 – the next-generation Internet addressing protocol.
The final programme has now been confirmed and can be viewed at:

NANOG46 : IPV6 Track
Andy Davidson from Netsumo/LoNAP is presenting part of the IPv6 at NANOG46 (click here for info of how to watch) at 9:30PM UK time today, or download the IPv6 for Enterprises presentation here, or see information about the other speakers here..
The messages are clear and simple. Working now to get ready for the IPv6 transition will be less expensive and lower risk than waiting for IPv4 starvation to hurt. I interviewed some key enterprises about their specific grumbles but the great news is that most are transitional and already people are working on fixing them.

Interop Las Vegas 2009 IPv6 Survey
Last week in Las Vegas, the Interop show took place. An unofficial count of 14,000 technology buyers and enthusiasts attended. While much lower than its record (over 100,000 strong), the show is still the biggest technology show which features a major presence by virtually every networking vendor. While exhibiting at Interop, we decided to walk the Interop Expo and ask the IPv6 support question to see if the mainstream corporate and enterprise space agrees with the need to think beyond IPv4.
That feedback was typical of the IPv6 supports who said it was Asia and Europe end-user demand and US Government requirements. One could say that the US Government mandate for IPv6 support was widely successful.

LINX IPv6 Workshop
LINX is holding a IPv6 technical workshop for LINX members in London on Friday 13th March 2009.
This event is aimed at an audience of network architecture and network engineering staff and will focus on practical IPv6 deployment, primarily though the sharing of experience and knowledge gained by those who have already deployed IPv6 or are in the process of doing so. LINX has so far received expressions of interest from several international telecom companies, mobile operators and content providers along with a large number of UK ISPs.
If your a LINX member its definately something that should be attended.
