IPv6 adoption is speeding up
The adoption of IPv6 is becoming a U.S. phenomenon, both Comcast and Verizon Wireless are moving head with there own NGN IPv6 networks and migrating from IPv4 to IPv6. According to the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), U.S. based service providers interest in IPv6 over IPv4 addresses continues to ramp up.
During the first nine months of this year, ARIN said it received 300 requests from service providers for IPv6 address space blocks. Conversely, ARIN received only 250 IPv6 requests throughout 2007 and 2008. "We're seeing an uptick in IPv6 address space requests; it's a very significant growth rate," says John Curran, president and CEO of ARIN. "We've seen a slight slowdown in IPv4 address space requests... It's probably dropped off 10 percent or 20 percent year over year."

Agencies should plan now to enable IPv6 on public-facing servers
American Registry for Internet Numbers president expects federal mandate soon for agencies to begin enabling new protocols on public-facing Web servers
The pool of available IPv4 addresses will be completely allocated in the not-too-distant future.
“It will happen 717 days from today, around 2 in the afternoon, just before tea time,†said John Curran, president of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN).
Or it might be in just 657 days; it depends on whose countdown clock you use. The point is, given the current rate of Internet growth, in about two years all new address assignments will be made with IPv6 addresses.'

netflix launches IPV6 portal
Back in Febrary, Netflix got an IPv6 allocation from ARIN. Now, they're running an IPv6 test: http://ipv6.netflix.com/.
Like ipv6.google.com, it's an IPv6-only site.
You can't stream video over IPv6, but you can go to their web site and manage your queue.
